About
This blog first started as a boring one on Blogger, that was all about freebies (i.e. free stuff ), especially those that are offered to the ROW. I belong to the ROW, and I know how it feels when you look for some cool freebies and can’t find but those limited to the USA, Canada and/or Australia. So this blog basically started as a resource about freebies offered worldwide, hence the name ‘international freebies‘. A few months after the first freebie was posted, I learned about a new way to get awesome free stuff online: blog contests. There are so many blog contests out there, with the coolest stuff ever, and all for free. Of course it takes a few requirements to participate in these (back-links, writing reviews, joining MBL communities…), then comes the draw which only gives you a chance to win (i.e. you don’t get the prize for sure, it’s a contest!); but even with freebies, you get to play it with your luck. Sometimes you get the freebies, sometimes you just wait for Godot.
But again, most blog contests out there that offer physical prizes (MP3 players, digital cameras… versus ‘virtual’ ones, such as hosting packages, links…) limit their contests to a few countries, mainly the USA. So what do I do? While I sympathize with my fellow ROWers, I just can’t sit back and look at all these blogs offering cool stuff and do nothing. Besides, I don’t want to turn the ’spell’ and make people from the US, Canada and Australia feel like the ROW while browsing through my blog. That said, I decided to try and have the best of both worlds (sounds familiar?) and post about blog contests even if they are limited to the USA only, so that everyone can find something around.
What’s in it for me, you’d ask? Here comes my thing! I somehow have a US address (yep, that’s true!), which enables me to participate in contests that require a US mailing address only (versus those requiring American residency because of some law). Cool, huh?
To make long story short, internationalfreebies.net is a blog about myriads of cool stuff that you can get online, for free, wherever you are in the world! :)
